Patterns of dysfunction like carpal tunnel, tennis/golf elbow, rotator cuff injury/ frozen shoulder are typically caused by postural distortion in the upper extremities of the neck, shoulder, elbow and wrist. Using rebalancing techniques like myofascial release, PIR/RI and DTF, students will learn how to treat these areas of pain to obtain most effective and fastest results.  Stretching suggestions will also be included.
 
Course Objectives:  Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  • Build on the information covered in the Postural and Palpation Assessment classes;
  • Identify, and address during massage, elements relating to function and dysfunction of posture;
  • Treating Compensation and Dysfunction.

Course Prerequisites:  100 hour Basic Swedish Massage Techniques, Palpation Assessment Skills for Massage, and Postural Analysis & Assessment.

Required Reading / Instructional Materials:  Handouts and product will be provided to you.  Please wear comfortable massage working clothes but also bring a bathing suit or work-out attire that is conformed to the body to complete postural analysis of this area.  Also bring massage setup (flat and fitted twin sheet, pillow case, 6 hand towels and hand/foot sanitizer) and a bottle of drinking water.
