Phonics & Reading Fluency (Grades 1-2)

Phonics and blending sounds together to make words are important skills for reading. In order to read more fluently and to comprehend what we read, we need to sound out words correctly and recognize them as words. This class will focus on sight words, phonics and learning the sounds needed to put together to make words. It will also put words together to make basic sentences that students can read with fluency and expression. It will include a variety of hands-on activities, group and individual work and practice drills to help increase fluency and reading skills.
