This class will explore various techniques of cooking with different kitchen tools and appliances. They will learn the importance of healthy nutrition, planning a menu and grocery shopping within a budget. Important: Please let our teacher know prior to the start of class if your child is allergic to any food.

Students will make a small recipe book to start building on the items they have learned to make. Best of all, they get to eat what they make! Whether you have a digital single lens reflex, a point and shoot, or Smartphone camera you will have fun developing your photographic eye for creating exciting dynamic images. Each day students will use their own cameras to participate in photo shoot skill building sessions. Learn cool techniques for shooting "selfies", setting automatic and manual camera exposure modes, and compositional strategies. Simple methods for transferring images from the camera to the computer, creating slideshows, and the use of apps and web based editors will be covered. Students must bring to every class meeting: A camera and the user’s guide, the camera’s USB connector cable and extra batteries. All attendees will take home one completed project print. A USB will be given to each student on the first day of class.

All levels welcome! Learning this skill will give students the benefit of expanding their knowledge, exploring creativity with design and be a benefit throughout their lives. Beginning students will learn how to operate a sewing machine, cut out patterns, sewing terms, and the elementary steps needed to make a garment such as buttonholes, and zipper applications. The material’s fee will provide 5 projects to choose from and the use of sewing supplies. Students needs to bring their own machine (no toy machines) and sewing supplies. Enrollment in this class requires no previous knowledge of sewing. Please check your registration confirmation for a list of supplies needed.

This class begins where Sew Fabulous stopped. Students will review all that they have learned in their first sewing class by applying techniques to advanced projects. Projects will be different and more complex than the projects in Sew Fabulous. Some of these techniques will be installation of invisible zippers, side pockets, welt openings and commercial patterns.  In addition, students will get hands on experience with an overlock machine. Each student needs to bring their own machine (no toy machines) and sewing supplies. Please check your registration confirmation for a list of supplies needed.   Prerequisite:  Sew Fabulous class or other sewing experience.
